just made the mistake of glancing through some user reviews of this movie over at imdb. what in the name of fuck is wrong with people? "this movie borrows from loads of sci-fi sources and contains many elements from many previous novels and movies as well as adding new spins on things and thus is sucks ass" not a direct qoute mind you but the general gist of the negative reviews. do people not understand that everything creative from computer hardware to high brow "classic" literature borrows alot from everything that has come before it. things that are original aren't original because they don't contain anything that's ever been done before (this is of course impossible). things are original due to *how* they impliment and elaborate on ideas they are inspired by. being inspired by a large mass of work dosn't hurt either (as opposed to a singular source). hell you don't see people bitching about the fact that just about every major holywood motion picture is an adaptation of some previous existing material (old movies, tv shows, books, comics, ect). fuck fuck fuck i need to hurt someone...

I thought the movie "looked" cool (ie nice Cinematography) but the story was a piss poor amalgamation of
Farenheit 451 - Brave New World - 1984 .....with hardly an innovative twist
It doesn't help that all 3 of these were required reading for me in 9th grade....It immediately conjures the image of a high school freshmen writing it.
